About TSC
The Technical Services Committee is a group of volunteer students and former students from the University of Sheffield. Coming from all backgrounds and subject disciplines, this friendly bunch share their expertise and work together to provide technical solutions for all of the Union's major events.
We provide crew for disco events such as Roar and Pop Tarts as well as the live gigs and The Tuesday Club.
How do I join?
Joining is very easy, simply drop us an email (tsc@shef.ac.uk) and we will get back to you. Alternatively, find us at the Freshers Fair, Activities Fair or Ultimate Fair where we will have a large stage showcasing some of the equipment we use. If you can't wait that long, we hold weekly meetings in the Foundry or our office (above Interval) on a Wednesday at 1pm so drop in and have a chat! Once you have completed your basic training (which doesn't usually take more than an hour) you can start working straight away.
Do I need any experience?
No. All training is provided free of charge and you will be taught and shown how to use the equipment. Any previous experience will be beneficial but many of those who join haven't had any experience before.
What's in it for me?
You will get a chance to work with big name artists, club night DJs and be an integral part of the running of your Students' Union. You will receive professional quality training and get to work with professional equipment. Many members of our crew have even gone on to work in the industry and TSC is well known for producing skilled technical crew.
